Introduction #
The Video tab provides a central place to manage your downloaded video files. It combines a video file list, technical media information and an integrated video player.
You can add existing video files, play videos, extract audio and delete video files you no longer need.
The Video Tab #
The Video tab is divided into two main areas.
Video List
The left panel displays the available video files. Each entry shows the filename and technical information about the corresponding video.
The displayed information includes:
- Duration – The total playback duration.
- Frames/s – The video’s frame rate.
- Video Codec – The video encoding format.
- Audio Codec – The audio encoding format.
- Container – The media container format.
- Channels – The number of audio channels.
- Sampling Rate – The audio sampling frequency.
- Bit Rate – The audio bit rate.
Integrated Video Player
The right panel contains the integrated media player, which allows you to play the videos directly within YouTube Scraper.
The player provides the following controls:
- Playback timeline and position.
- Pause and Stop controls.
- Audio and volume controls.
Adding Video Files #
You can add existing video files to the Video tab without downloading them again.
Right-click inside the video list and select Add Video Files.
Select the video files you want to add. YouTube Scraper copies the selected files into the configured video output folder and adds them to the Video list.
The original files remain in their original locations. YouTube Scraper works with the copies stored in its video folder.
After importing, the application displays the available technical information for each video.
Playing Videos #
To play a video, click the playback button next to its entry in the video list.
The video is displayed in the integrated player on the right.
You can control playback using the player controls, including pausing, stopping and adjusting the volume.
Deleting Video Files #
To remove videos, select the entries you want to delete, right-click and choose Delete the Selected Videos.
Important: This operation does not simply remove entries from the Video tab. It also deletes the corresponding video files from your hard drive.
Make sure you no longer need the selected files before confirming this operation.
Extracting Audio from Video Files #
YouTube Scraper allows you to extract audio directly from existing video files without downloading the audio separately from YouTube.
Select the video entries you want to process, right-click and choose one of the following options:
- Extract Audio MP3 – Extracts the audio and saves it in MP3 format.
- Extract Audio M4A – Extracts the audio and saves it in M4A format.
This is useful when you already have a video file but only need its audio track.
Selecting All Videos #
If you want to perform an operation on all available video entries, right-click inside the video list and select Select All.
All entries will be selected, allowing you to apply the available context-menu operations to the entire selection.
